About Us

My name is Teela and i'm the founder and CEO of Coastal Numbers. I started this company in May 2025, but Coastal Numbers has been a passion project for me since the summer of 2024. Almost 5 years ago, I was the front desk supervisor for a vacation rental company. After 6 months in the position, I was offered a new position within the Accounting department as an Accounting Specialist. I had never worked in Accounting, but decided to give it a try. I quickly fell IN LOVE with all things Accounting. After 3 years of being in my position, I was sadly let go of my job due to task force reduction. I ran across a bookkeeping blog shortly after my lay off and in that moment, something clicked and I knew that I wanted to be a bookkeeper and start my own company. I took courses and became certified in bookkeeping through Inuit and then became a Quickbooks Online ProAdvisor as well as earning a Payroll Certification in QBO. Following my layoff, I tried working for 3 different companies in their Accounting departments and for several reasons I decided to leave them. After forcing myself to work at these jobs just for the sake of paying my bills and being miserable every Monday morning, I decided to finally take the leap of faith and start my own bookkeeping business. Although it hasn't been an easy road, I'm so incredibly grateful for being able to start my company and finally make Coastal Numbers a reality. With over 4 years of being in the industry and working with AR, AP, company expenses combined with my QBO certifications, my goal is to ease business owner's lives by being a trusted source that overlooks their financials and manage their payroll.
